Spending Time With Our Elephant Friends

We have befriended several of our fellow volunteers at the Elephant Nature Park and have been fortunate enough to spend more time with them while they are still in Chiang Mai. The group started out with quite a large number but day by day, friends leave Chiang Mai and continue on their way and to a variety of destinations around the world, including back to Canada, other parts of Thailand and Zanzibar. So we’ve tried to spend as much time with them as we could before they left. Here is Mindy and Carolyn having hiked up to a gorgeous waterfall:
Here are Maren (German), Adam (Australian), Mindy and Carolyn (Canadian) at our place for drinks. It was the first time we had had company:

Maren treated us to a fresh coconut juice. We watched the coconut be chopped open right in front of us. It doesn’t get any fresher than that!

And Maren, Mindy and Carolyn even went to Ligeia’s place of work to have lunch with her:

Carolyn was the last one of the group to stay and she leaves tomorrow. We’re hoping to visit her in southern Thailand in a few weeks though.
Thanks to all our new elephant friends for making our last couple of weeks wonderful!
