Overnight at Waree Rawee Resort

Ligeia was invited as part of the full-time English department staff to attend a work retreat at Waree Rawee Resort (trying saying that 10 times fast!). Since the seminar was all in Thai, except the part where Ligeia got up to introduce herself along with another new teacher, we were told we could “just relax and enjoy the surroundings”. Not wanting to disobey direct orders, Ligeia made sure to make the most out of it.
This the bed Ligeia slept in:
And here is the living room:

The first day, Ligeia climbed to the top of a lookout to get this shot of the entire retreat center. Not too shabby huh?

Friday morning (the 2nd and final day), Ligeia woke up early to go on a short hike across the Mae Tang River and up the mountain. Look how lusciously green everything was:

This hike also offered beautiful views of the river (including the bamboo bridge Ligeia crossed) as well as the retreat center and the surrounding area:

All in all, it was not a bad way to spend a couple of work days! Realizing that she was only 2 kilometers from the Elephant Nature Park (the same place she and Mindy volunteered for a week), Ligeia decided to spend Friday afternoon and evening with the elephants at the park. Stay tuned for more about what turned into an amazing afternoon!
Love,
Ligeia and Mindy :):)
