It’s been a while!

Well, folks!

This is my second time trying to post this message! The first time failed because we lost the internet connection! So here we go!

First to report, our package to Immigrations Canada has finally begun its long journey! We’ll keep you posted with any new developments with the application process!

And here are some pics of our last week:

We went to a hydroponic U-pick strawberry farm to pick our own berries and it was fantastic. They don’t use pesticides or soil so you can the berries as soon as you pick them! I didn’t know this, but there are (at least) 3 types of strawberries. I don’t remember the names of them, but I do remember that the farm was divided into rows of yellow, green and red. the berries in the yellow rows were gross. Ligeia preferred the taste of the green rows and I stuck to the red rows.

Eating or picking, Ligeia???

We ended up picking a pound of berries each, and then buying a “jammer” which is a 10-lb bag. Do the math – that’s 12 pounds of strawberries… all for $8.98!!!

Wow! 12 pounds!!!

And yesterday also was my first softball game for team “come on blue”. We won a come-from-behind win in the bottom of the last inning (no thanks to me, though… I popped up all my hits, reaching base a couple of times due to fielder’s errors!) Gotta work on my timing and patience… it’s not the fast-pitch I’m used to… it’s slo-pitch…

Wait for it… wait for it…

And to finish off this post… here’s a pic of Crash, aka Crashhopper, aka Grasshopper, for his amazing ability of hopping to and from anywhere!

Isn’t he adorable?

Anyhoo… Ligeia and I are about to leave for the weekend to visit my mom and uncle Jack. Maybe we’ll post some pics of the weekend when we get back!

Take care,
Mindy and Ligeia 🙂

Hey there, I get so jealous when you post messages about strawberries. I must tell you that I bought strawberries the other day and we got 450 grams of strawberries for 2.99 so that huge bag of strawberries makes me want to move south. I am glad to hear that you have things sent away and are working on getting things in order 🙂 I must say, the pictures you are posting are great…because I can actually look at green grass! We have no snow here at the moment…but the grass is a lovely shade of “rotting vegetable” brown….yumm. Anyways, have fun visiting the family..and enjoy those strawberries 🙂

Hey Mindy, are those strawberries part of your plumage? I hope you do turkey-runnin’ between bases in softball.
I miss my little ladies 🙁
    No ma’am!
