Daytrip to Lake Simcoe, Keswik, Ontario

On Saturday, Mindy and Ligeia headed up to Keswick to visit friends that are lucky enough to live right on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Despite its size, the vast majority of the lake freezes in the winter and, amazingly, frozen enough to support trucks, cars, snowmobiles, ATVs, ice fishing huts, hockey rinks, snowshoers, x-country skiers and us walkers. Thankfully, we had a nice, clear and calm day to enjoy the lake:

Later in our trek, we decided to try cross-country skiing. It took us a while to get the hang of it (in the picture below, Mindy had just rolled over on her ankle!)

In no time, we were skiing off towards the horizon!

Despite the lack of clouds, the sunset was gorgeous! Bearing the cold was definitely worth it:

Hope everyone’s enjoying the joys of winter! Special thanks to Ann & Damien for being such gracious hosts, chefs and ski instructors!

Mindy & Ligeia 🙂 🙂
