So, it took us one day of pavement-pounding to find a place to live that met our four requirements:
- Wifi internet
- A western-style, sit-toilet
- Air-conditioning
- Kitchen
What we found, and immediately moved into, is a small one-bedroom condo unit in Chiang Mai’s newest condo building! It’s so new that construction is ongoing. We’ve been told that in the next month or so, we’ll have access to a pool, sauna and gym. Not too shabby! Oh, and one of the coolest things about this place is that there’s no front-door key or fob… nope, that’s way too low-tech! A fingerprint scanner is used! It feels like we’re on the set of a Mission Impossible movie!
Here are some pics of the place:
Dining Room / Living Room
Dining Room / Kitchen
(The kitchen only includes a sink, microwave and fridge…
we bought an electric griddle/pot set so Mindy can start cooking again)
Dining Room / Office
Bedroom (the bed works quite well!)
Bathroom
View from Balcony
Our next mission is to figure out where to do our laundry and find a supermarket nearby to shop for groceries. After that, it’s on to job-hunting!
Lots of love,
Mindy & Ligeia : ) : )

I’m glad that you’ve found a wonderful apartment! Some of the important things you need to consider before settling in an apartment is its location and amenities. And I guess you’ve been able to reflect upon those things. Your apartment is in a safe, suitably located area and, the amenities are wonderful. Great job! 😀
