Located in the hustle and bustle of the Silom district in Bangkok, Bonita Cafe is a quaint escape serving delicious meals. Focused primarily on animal welfare, this restaurant does a great job in transforming traditional comfort food into hearty, vegan dishes.
Atmosphere
Decorated with unique pieces of Americana, Bonita Cafe transports visitors to a country-style home found in Small Town, U.S.A. It’s a cozy place with four tables, and you’re treated like family as soon as you walk in the front door.
With your food cooked to order, fresh popcorn is served to keep your tastebuds occupied, while the wonderful aromas waft in from the kitchen. Free wifi is provided as well, making it the perfect place to enjoy one of their refreshing drinks while getting some work done online.
Menu
The menu offers animal-friendly versions of homestyle classics, such as the club sandwich, pancakes, sausage & eggs, pasta carbonara, burger, and so much more. It’s clear that the chef enjoys creating tasty food, and the food arrives as a beautiful feast for the eyes first.
During my first visit (as I know this will be a place I return to when I’m in Bangkok again!), I couldn’t resist the club sandwich. It was absolutely divine. So good, in fact, that it will be difficult to try something else on the menu next time. I just wish that there was a bit more of the roasted potatoes, as they disappeared way too quickly.
Desserts
The chocolate mousse caught my when I was perusing the menu before I ordered, and I made a mental note to try it after my meal. Unfortunately, though, my lunch was so filling that I couldn’t bear the thought of eating anything else. This is another item that makes it to the “Next Time” list.
Prices and Service
The prices are slightly more expensive than restaurants that we frequent, but when you taste the food, you’ll agree that it’s well worth it. The fact that your meals are made without a single animal being harmed is also something we feel is worth paying a little extra for.
The service was friendly and attentive. I would lift my head up from my computer and see that my water glass had been refilled, and the staff made sure that the internet was working well, the air-conditioning was at a comfortable temperature and that the food met their high standards.
In my opinion, Bonita Cafe is one of the best vegan restaurants in Bangkok. Be sure a visit here finds its way onto your itinerary!
