1. What was your best meal during your travels?

Oh my goodness, our best meal ever? Wow, that’s a hard one! We enjoyed bundiga (coconut, green bananas and pepper) in Belize, momos in Tibet,  massaman curry at Anchan Restaurant in Thailand, sabich (grilled eggplant in a pita with all kinds of toppings) in Tel Aviv, gado gado (peanut sauce with veggies) in Indonesia and, more recently, the soul food platter (vegan mac and cheese, collard greens, candied yams and corn bread) at Detroit Vegan Soul in Detroit, Michigan. We love exploring the vegan options of each place we visit and are often amazed at the amount of choices.

2. Do you plan ahead or go with the flow?

We mostly go with the flow but for a new destination in which we will be arriving either late at night or after a long travel day, we often plan the first night’s accommodations. After that, we are on our own to do whatever and stay wherever we want.

3. Where are you going next?

We leave for Jamaica in a few days and it will be my 50th country! About a week after we get back from that trip, we head to the Republic of Ireland, which will be Mindy’s 30th country  🙂

4. What do you love about travel blogging?

We love sharing our experiences with others. It also creates a nice memoir for us, kind of like a travel diary. We really like it when we get word from a fellow traveler that a tip or piece of advice that we shared on our blog helped them during their own travel adventures.

Also, sometimes the blog pushes us to get out and do some exploring. We want to keep information fresh, which has often helped us get out of a stay-at-home rut.

5. What do you hate about travel blogging?

Travel blogging takes up WAY more time than we initially thought and sometimes that can feel tedious.

6. What’s the most important traveling tip for females?

Don’t listen to people who tell you that you can’t do something. Just go and do it!

7. How much do you pack for your travels?

As little as posssible. We rarely check any luggage and even limit our carry-ons to a laptop backpack and a camera bag. We travel like this whether going somewhere for a weekend or a month or even when moving to Thailand, where we stayed for a couple of years.

8. Do you participate in tour groups while traveling?

We really try not to, but there are certain places that require that visitors travel in a group, such as Tibet. Although it wasn’t our preferred way to travel, we didn’t let it dissuade us from visiting one of the most fascinating places on earth.

9. Where is the prettiest place you’ve been to?

There are so many beautiful places that it’s hard to answer this question. Out of the countries we’ve visited so far though it’s a toss up between Norway and Laos, both of which have exquisite natural beauty but, of course, in very different ways.

10. Where could you see yourself settling down in?

Honestly, there are so many wonderful places in the world that we could see ourselves settling down in. We currently have our sights set on Vermont, USA.
