Hey Everyone!
This Canada Day weekend, Ligeia and I headed up to my family’s cottage for some well-needed rest and relaxation away from the city. We enjoyed the fresh air, loon calls, a refreshing evening swim, a windy morning canoe ride, crossword puzzles and of course, sleeping in!
On Saturday morning, we woke up extra early (4:45am) and were witness to a gorgeous sunrise! The pictures don’t do the experience justice at all! After spending an hour watching it get brighter and brighter, we went back to our warm bed and slept till the sun was high in the sky!
We saw this loon during our canoe outing on Silent Lake. It was absolutely amazing how close we were able to get to this beautiful bird. After we had passed by, we heard him (or her) call out, and strengthens my belief that the loon’s call defines the tranquility of nature.

Overall, it was a great weekend. Sadly, it went by too quickly.
For our Canadian friends, we hope your Canada Day was spent just as nicely, and to our American friends, happy 4th of July 🙂
Lots of love,
Ligeia and Mindy 🙂 🙂

Now the cries of Loons are my most favorite sounds on earth!
Lucky you!
