As part of a blog carnival for Save Elephant Foundation, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Elephant Nature Park, we’ve put together our respective top 10 bucket list items.
Of course, if you’ve read about us, you’re aware that our goal is to visit every country in the world, but that bucket list is already in progress on our Travel Map. For this post, we’ve done our best to compile our ten most desired destinations and experiences, as of April 6, 2013, in no particular order.
Ligeia’s Bucket List
- Stand on the North Pole
- Travel to outer space and see the earth as a whole
- Hike to Everest Base Camp on the Nepal side
- Scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef
- Do the 3-day kora around Mt. Kailash in Tibet
- Travel to a new country with nothing but a passport, toothbrush and a camera
- Visit Mecca
- Skydive
- See Tosca at the La Scala opera house in Milan
- See penguins in Antarctica
Mindy’s Bucket List
- Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
- See the Northern Lights from an outdoor hot tub
- Witness the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup
- Umpire softball at the Olympics
- Build our own straw bale home
- Take a hot-air balloon ride over Bagan, Myanmar
- See a humpback whale breach
- Take a photo that wins a photography contest
- See the cherry blossoms in front of Mt. Fuji, Japan
- Raise enough money to rescue an elephant
11. Celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary on September 16, 2056
That last one is a mutual wish. It deserves a shared space, separate from our top ten lists, because it carries considerably more weight than all other bucket list items combined.Â
To enjoy this carnival, we call on our fellow bloggers to list their top ten bucket list goals. Read the requirements for your post and start compiling! We nominate the following bloggers:

Thanks for giving us a shout out. The first thing on our bucket list is writing a post about our bucket list. Look for it to go up sometime soon. 🙂
